Source for Amphiprion chrysopterus (Blue Stripe Anemonefish)?

Looking to find an Amphiprion chrysopterus, AKA the Blue Stripe Anemonefish, anyone know of a reputable source that is selling them? I asked my LFS and they were not able to order one. . . I looked on the usual online shops (though I have never ordered marine fish online) and could not find any. . .

Years ago, the mortality rate on wild caught chrysopterus was so high, I simply stopped acquiring them. I don't know if the issue has changed over the years, but Biota has had captive raised ones for sale (out of stock now).

Thanks Jay! I have heard/read that survival among wild caught specimens was low, which is unfortunate, but could explain the difficulty in finding them. Thanks for the link, that and one other listing are the only ones I could find. . . and both were for pairs/trios, which is unfortunate cause I can't house 3 (or afford 3) at the moment. All that said, I may have to bite the bullet and buy a pair once my fish room is up and running (fingers crossed). Thanks again.

i do have an adult pair available here soon ive had them for 6 months beautiful pair female around 6 inches atleast male is about 4 to 5 inches just lmk located in michigan or can ship aswell

trying not to get too excited yet, cause like Jay said it sounds like these guys don’t always do so well in captivity, but I got one!!!

She has a strange bump on her dorsal fin, not sure what it is. . . my fear is some kind of isopod, but maybe a healing injury or something. . . I can’t get a good look at it. Anyway I am leaving it alone for now in hopes of not stressing her out until she is more acclimated to her new surroundings!

Glad to hear. Keep a very close eye on it for brook. I got 3 last summer and they all 3 came in with brook and I could not save them.

How is your blue stripe doing?
I got a trio of small blue stripes four years ago from Kenya and they finally got busy and laid eggs! I guess that explains why the 'third wheel' is in hiding....

Nice. Being from Keny and looking at the first stripe they look like Allardi.

She's doing well, of course she was unwilling to pose for a photo haha

She also seems to be warming up to my skunk clown (hoping to get them to breed some day, though both are still pretty young)

I don't remember what they were sold as, I just called them blue stripe. I just learned the first stripe forming a bottom point indicates Allardi. Good eye, thanks!
