Splitting elegance?

My elegance grew to about 9 inches across the. Started to get a line across it that looks like a scar. Now it looks like the flesh is splitting down the line. Never heard of one branching but who knows...any ideas what else it could be doing? Split are starting on each side.

hi,that is how they grow in wild ,just like the fox coral..very rare in home reef ..really cool :)
