SPS advice needed....

Background Tanks 2 years old, light 350 par, 350 gyresx2 water changes bi weekly. my sps have started to get discoloration on tips, and ive had die off I haven't experienced ever. ive been calibrating my trident with Hannah checker which is showing my dkh at 8.5. my salifert kit shows 10.9dkh. tanks 165 gallon. im thinking salifert is right and this is burnt tips on pictures attached. fauna Marin icp was sent off and dosage of all traces corrected last month. 5 years of reef keeping and the more I try to rely on the complex systems the worse results im getting. anyone who may possibly have the years of experience to try and give guidance it would be much appreciated.

Can mean low nutrients with higher alk and burning tips. As far as complexity..the basics like maintaining alk/cal/mag plus a good schedule of waterchanges is simple and easy and works. Its not how I do it anymore but when I did, it was just fine and things were healthy.

my nutrients did dip and with the hanna checker mishap I do believe I have elevated dkh by dosing Kalk referencing bad readings

will neo nitrate suffice? also do you think mp40s would be a better option for flow? I did go 1.5 months without cleaning the gyres and heed your advice on flow. at 80 on even a clean gyre the thrive in the tank.

Neo nitrate is fine. Some like diy ammonium bicarb or sodium nitrate. Either way..neo is fine for now and you can research the others. Heavier feeding is an option as well...all on how you want to go for your tank.

Thanks, im feeding pretty heavily and have been using doses of neonitro. I have ammonium bi-carb on order as well. ill continue trying to raise levels as suggested

I prefer mp-40 over gyre myself.. I had a couple ice cap gyre and they filled with algae which and were a pain to clean! You could save yourself some coin and go with the Jaebo dcp-40 if ya wanted to make the change:
