I will be sure to let you know, Thompsonville is about 2 hours from me, we also have a new coral centered store up here called Great Lakes Corals in Petoskey just started like a year or 2 agoCongrats on your new tank! Let me know when you get things going smoothly if you are close to thompsonville at all I may have a few corals to give you for some starters. Always cool to connect with some local folks!
I've seen them posting online and follow on Facebook but its a rare day that I actually venture toward Petoskey. Going to have to make that trip soon though.I will be sure to let you know, Thompsonville is about 2 hours from me, we also have a new coral centered store up here called Great Lakes Corals in Petoskey just started like a year or 2 ago

Well here we go starting a thread to document the build of my waterbox frag 55.2
After many years spent away from the hobby the opportunity finally came and I decided to jump back in. I had originally intended to get a waterbox 60.2 but after 7 weeks of waiting from my purchase date and no idea when I would be getting a shipment I called waterbox and we came up with swapping my order to a frag 55.2. The demensions were nearly the same and I opted to get the upgraded uv coated cabinet to go with the system. A couple more headaches come and gone with the shipping process and I finally received my tank this past weekend. Water tested for leaks for 24 hrs then started setting everything up.
My plans for this tank are for it to be a mostly sps dominant reef.
Currently we also have a small quarantine tank going with two photon clowns we also picked up recently. Creatively named by my wife "morticia & gomez"
As far as equipment goes im trying to keep this simple. The tank has about 40lbs of liferock shapes and close to 30lbs of aragonite special grade sand. Brs 200w titanium heater with controller and a viper 3.0 return pump.
Since the temp and salinity have gotten to where they need to be i ghost fed the tank and began adding seachem stability.
From here its going to be slow going. Im planning on getting a radion xr15 G5 pro but going to wait until the cycle is over with so I dont have the temptation of turning the light on before my cycle is over and done with.
Yeah super nice people and willing to help as much as possible.I've seen them posting online and follow on Facebook but its a rare day that I actually venture toward Petoskey. Going to have to make that trip soon though.
So don’t keep this one up and going and start new with the 120Things have been going really well recently. Corals are growing fast again and colors are popping. Its making me think about holding off on moving this tank into the 120.
Yeah I'm going to watch and see how things for for a bit. I had been planning on setting up the 120 where my main tank sits now so that would be the biggest issue, moving this tank out of the way for the new one.So don’t keep this one up and going and start new with the 120
Ahhh yeah that would definitely be an issueYeah I'm going to watch and see how things for for a bit. I had been planning on setting up the 120 where my main tank sits now so that would be the biggest issue, moving this tank out of the way for the new one.
Ugh that is so beautifulNew addition to the 40 gallon. Traded out most of the soft corals and a few frags for a massive blue tipped galaxea colony. Made sure to clear out a corner of the tank for it. Everything is cooking along and doing great. Im going to get to work on a new stand for the 120 this week and hopefully next weekend get a leak test started.
Looking good just slowly encrusting. Looks like everyone in the grow out contest is at nearly the same point. That's sweet! How's the blood bank frag doing?
Oh yeah thats looking good, your on my radar! I like your set up, the 120 is gunna be sweet!Looking good just slowly encrusting. Looks like everyone in the grow out contest is at nearly the same point.
Thanks! Going to try and get a new stand built today so I can start putting the plumbing togeather for it. Hopefully a water test sometime this week.Oh yeah thats looking good, your on my radar! I like your set up, the 120 is gunna be sweet!
