FTS 1/25/17 Still playing with the settings on this LG V20 camera.

It had been over 10 years without any aquariums and as we know the salt itch never goes away. 7/3/16 I went out looking for a nano tank. The AIO options are amazing and a big change to what we had before. Equipment options and quality has also made a tremendous leap forward.

I decided on the Innovative Marine Fusion 10 due to quality and features.

Added a 2nd eFlux 660 today and set them up in Gyre mode. Frequency is at 3 and 100% flow.

I received some toys from BRS this week. I had been having my lfs test the parameters up until now. I picked up a Hanna PH probe, Hanna dkh tester, Red Sea Pro Calcium and Magnesium kits. I also ordered some Kalwasser.

I wanted to run the numbers by you all before throwing the Kalk in the ATO.

Lights had been off for 3 hours when i got home tonight and ran the tests.
pH 7.62
alk 6
Cal 440
Mag 1360
NO3 and PO4 just API test cannot distinguish any color.

I have been dosing Seachem Reef Complete, Reef Carbonate and Reef Plus twice a week. I increased from 1ml to 2.5ml 2 weeks ago.

Should I work up alk before starting Kalwasser?

Yes get your alk were you want it then use the kalkwasser .bring up dkh slowly no more then 1 a day.

Parameters are looking good for me I havee added the Kalkwasser tonight to my ATO reservoir.

I started low also 1 teaspoon for the gallon. Slow and steady wins this race.

Thank you very much! No skimmer on this at all I was up in the air at first but early on i decided it is very unlikely i will add a fish to this tank. Nerite snails and SPS besides the GSP and xenia just for bottom and back cover the tank would benefit more from the media reactor.

I love this ATO and feel it is the most important piece of equipment i have running on this tank but a very funny story. Last night I had the resevoir all settled with the Kalk and fired it back up. I woke up today and the resevoir was almost empty.

I use these

Almost the same width as the tank a the spout is nice if i need to dilute something with RO/DI or just need some to rinse something.

I thought a hose cracked or the anti back syphon fitting was leaking. I found water under it once i inspected it. The dang thing cracked on the bottom corner.

I attribute it to the slight bow the area has and the weight of it has been resting on the outer corners for 7 months. I made sure the tank had a flat surface but didn't consider this would have an issue.

Picked up a Kessil Spectral Controller and have a Kessil A360NE ordered and should be here on Tuesday.

I think I am going to break down and add a fish to the tank. Thinking a Six Line Wrasse headed to the LFS so may have an update later today.
