Back from the holiday and everything seems to be going super well!
My cycle might be complete?

Temp: 77.9F
Salinity: 1.026ppt
Ammonia: 0ppm (!!!!)
NO3: 2.5-5ppm (definitely closer to 5ppm still, but might not even be 5ppm yet)
PO4: 0ppm (!!!)

There is green hair algae growing ALL over! Is it in my best interest to leave it and let it run its course or should I scrape it all off and let it get filtered out by the floss? Scrape it all with the pump off and try to vacuum it out? There are few small balls of deep brown/red algae, nothing of major concern I'd imagine.

I installed the OhMyPuff filter floss holder in place of my filter sock (it was nasty yellow & brown). I used a small cut piece of seapora filter floss and a small hand cut sheet of filter fleece underneath it; I intend on changing the small sheet of fleece daily and the small piece of floss every 4-7 days depending on how quickly it dirties/clogs up.

The light seems to be working great still! I should have some time off later this week to take some better photos and write up more information about all of the small things I've been doing.

I might stop by the LFS and get a 2-3 snails to start my CUC and get the tank bioload to start establishing!

Big moves today!

I picked up 1 blue leg hermit, 1 Nassarius snail, 2 Astrea snails, and 2 Margarita snails to help keep the tank clean :)

I did my first water change (only 1.25g)

I had the LFS verify my water quality parameters

Temp: 77.9F
Salinity: 1.027ppt
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrates: 2.5-5ppm
Phosphates: 0ppm

I cleaned up MOST of the hair algae

Just a quick write up about the TC420 and the LuminiAqua Pixie 30; I ended up wiring a 24v 2.0A power supply directly to the TC420 controller inputs, then I wired the five LED light wires to channels 1-4 and V+. So, I had to snip the wire leading from the original controller/power supply in order to gain access to the wires to wire into the controller. I used the TC420App to quickly and easily create a few different programs for the light. Right now I have it starting early at 7am ramping the blue and royal blue from 0%-5% until 9am, then from 9am to 1pm all 4 channels slowly ramp up to about 50% power, hold steady until about 3pm, then slowly ramp down to 0% at 8pm, leaving the blue and royal blue at 5% dropping to 0% by 10pm. I am very happy so far. I'm curious if anyone thinks that this photo period is too long? I'd like to have the lights on for a long duration at a lower power level if that makes sense.

Just so you are aware if the Margarita snails do not make it most of them are caught in cold water as the ones in warmer waters are usually much deeper in the ocean and hard to collect so don't worry and think something is wrong with your tank. In the future I would stick to Astrea snails or trochus snails if you can find them (trochus snails are usually more expensive but can reproduce in your tank though!).
