Having an issue with sps. Despite keeping things solid, I'm having an issue where a birdsnest is fully polyp extended and losing tissue at the same time. Aswell an orange passion that is losing some flesh from the tips and colour but polyps are extended. What is the issue?

Params
Sg- 1.026
Alk- 7.5
Cal- 495
Mag- 1340
N03- 5ppm
P04- 0.04
Temp has fluctuated 2 degrees +/- (78-80) recently since its been crazy hot

Running a modified ab+ at 62% intensity which i just changed today before it was running at 80%

These parameters aside from calcium and mag have been rock solid.

How long has your tank been running for? And I was having the same problem until I switched lighting.

Parameters are fine, for me, Alk is on the lower end.
How long you had them?
Are there others corals, if so, are they reacting?
Why change the lights?

I had them for almost 4 weeks now :) I have a wd and a orange passion, their polyps are out not crazy extension but they're out! And I changed lights because I'll be adding another light soon and would need to lower intensity

Had whites at 25% on the channel and turned it down to 15% aswell as the intensity to 55% from 80%

I am seeing green on recent posts pics which might indicate that phosphates are higher than tested.
Do you have GHA issue in your tank, or has this been rectified?

No gha at all and the temp is drifting 2 degrees at most, +/-

I’m seeing no obvious issues however changing lights usually comes with some problems.
Can you share some pics of what you are seeing?

Thats what the birdsnest looks like and the orange passions skin is peeling. The wd is fine from what I'm seeing like the second picture and this was before I changed the lights aswell. Another thing to note was the orange passions menstrial filaments were out aswell around 3-4days ago.

Remembering now, also want to add that sg was at 1.024 but brought back up over the course of 1 week- 1 1/2 weeks (1 week ago) aswell the magnesium was low and I brought that up aswell to 1350. Only thing swinging is temp but no other major changes. All params that were low were brought back up slowly

I think bacteria is making your sps to get bleached have you ster you sand?

Never stirred it and I've got a uv sterilizer on the display wouldn't that mitigate that? Aswell what can i do to take care of the bacteria?

everything checks out ok if you have little cash I would highly recommend send the water to the lab let them check and see what is going on
I think it’s 50$

my sps got bleached due to stirring the sand

Bad bacteria did this to my corals I am still having issues when I try to clean my rocks 80% of my sps will die

So sorry to hear about that! I'll get my icp out asap. But the oddness stems from my wd not losing flesh but everything else is and polyps out and no issues as it stands
