Hi just wondering if anyone could help me I’d this, been told it’s a sort of fan coral but it has a skeleton similar to montipora. It’s not iridescent under blues, it colours it’s best under white light glowing orange.

Ouch... I actually touch it in store and the guy at LFS had it in his hand with no issues. It does looks like one though.

Yeah, lace coral. If it live more than a month you’ll be the first I have ever heard of keeping one. They are 100% Non photosynthetic and the majority of them sold are already dead. Unlike acros they do not lose their color when dead, the skeletons calcite is the color not the living tissue. You should see tiny clear cilia along the margins for filtering tiny food. These are extremely hard to feed. Best of luck though!

100% agree with the above, disctopora (spelling?) make even the most finicky acropora look easy, I personally have never seen anyone have success keeping these alive, there was a fella on RC many years ago had fairly good luck with one but his setup was a strictly NPS tank.

i believe you are correct, spend most of the night reading on the subject and it’s not looking good, there is no success stories out der, the coral looks half dead already and only can see a few clusters of tiny polyps. I do have a few nps doing well but got no hopes for this one.
