For me it is pearlberry..... can't keep that alive. Along with Monti's and birdsnest. Go figure. Yet I have awesome tricolors, cerealis, softies, stags, and many other acros.

+1 on the Efflos but my color is good it's just a very slow grower.

There are a lot of brown efflos out there naturally, so that may be the issue with some of you. As far a growth, my efflo/soli grows faster than anything in my tank. My friend had the $500 efflo(which has a lot more brown in it than people will admit) & that thing was a weed.

The common theme with both was they had open space 360 degrees & grew on pedastels to get flow from everywhere.

My personal bain is the white skinned ice fire echinata. I'm on my third frag. The other two would get some green in the skeleton at the base & the coral would wick up phospate & be dead in a few days. The whole skeleton was green from boring algae. I'm sure my phospates may be a bit too high for this peice, but my colors are great with all my other acros & I don't want to lower my nutrients any more.

Loripes/granulosas....don't die, just turn brown and sit there like a lump forever, sloooooooowly recede. Really stinks because they are one of my favorite corals of all time.

Same issue with birdsnest here. But I don't really mind that much, they don't do it for me.
Also encrusting montis. Could never grow sunset, finally got a superman (sold as original pokerstar for waaay too much money) to recover from 5 polyps to a 5" colony over the course of 5 years, color is not the best though.

Knock on wood I have 2 abrotanoides and 4 spathulata frags going strong though! Should be awesome colonies in about 4 years! :)

I have some issues with the atl appleberry and getting it to color up for me. Also have an issue with the bonsai. The base tends to brown and my green polyps have browned.

It looks like everyone is having problems with all types of sps.

I also see a lot of people getting no growth with birdsnest.

I want to say that I too had the same problem for about 4 months. What I did was got rid of Ca Rx (too many stability problems) and began using 2 part on my 40 breeder. Everything became much more stable and the colors to alot of my sps came back, including my ponape and pink birdsnest. So, you might want to make sure your parameters (Ca & Alk) are stable. As soon as these two parameters became stable my two birdsnests took off. Hope this helps some people out. :)

For me its red planet, i've bleached it out each of the 3 times i have tried. No matter what i do, it will bleach out while everything else continues to grow and color. Oh well, there are plenty other corals I like and would be willing to take over the value real-estate the RP currently resides on.

When my alk dipped too low due to trying to figure out how much Mg to dose, my birds nests were the first to suffer, and I have a tank full of different lps and SPS.

Our one epic fail is A. desalwii. We've tried two beautiful colonies and could not make it past the 6 month mark. No troubles with anything else we've tried including efflo's.
