So today, something really weird happened that concerns me. I fed the tank some Oyster Feast and Phyto Feast, and about 10 minutes later, looked like my clam was sticking his white tongue out. I know it isn't a tongue, but what was that? I didn't take a picture, but after about 10 minutes or so, he closed his shell, then slowly opened it, and he's back to normal. What the heck was that?!?! They use it to move...he may have been trying to get outta the way of all the small particulates. All 4 of mine get mad when i feed.

I've never seen mine do that during feeding. If anything they start pumping food through them.
Mine dont try to move just get angry and close up when food is in the water column...all of them always have...maxima squammy

That would be his palp. Not sure why it would do it but if you start seeing negative reactions feeding I'd stopped feeding for a bit.

Isn't the palp on the opposite end of the clam's anatomy from the inlet siphon?
