0AF33CC6-88F1-4695-ACB8-2111B443585B.jpeg I’ve probably read/seen this scenario 50 times in this forum but need some direction & confidence! This tang (& 2 clowns and 6 chromic) were added about 9 months ago to my reef after 80 day fallow and 30 day Copper. All has been well. I just did a 30 day Copper & 10 day observation with yellow tang & flame. They looked great & never exhibited any issues during this 40 day period. Added to DT about 4 days ago. Al looked great for 2 days. Yesterday noticed flame with with small patch and then today the blue had this patch. All fish are eating and moving.

I’m thinking I need to try to treat In the 140 which is loaded with rock and mainly LPS. Would need total tear down to pull fish. I’m starting to treat frozen and pellet food with focus & the trifecta meds. Anything else I can do?

Metroplex, Kanaplex, Furan-2 with focus bound to food. Anything else I can dose directly to DT water?
Honestly, I wouldn't dose anything in the display. Move over to a quarantine tank and dose there

They could just be establishing territory, I would suggest adding vitamin c to the feeding mix for stress.:)

This would be my total 2nd tear down in a little over a year. It’s doable but I’m hesitating as I’m going out of town all of next week.
I would follow what @jsker said then :) Hopefully its just light bullying that will go away .

Consider a fish trap . They have worked very well for me in the past particularly tangs.

Thanks folks for the quick input. I’ll think I’ll stick with the selcon and medicated food for now and see where it goes for today into tomorrow.

If they are to remain the display, then this is the best you can do. The vitamins are always a great idea as well. Keep feeding the medicated food for a minimum of 10 days.

Thanks appreciate the help. I just fed my first batch of medicated food & all ate well. Keeping my fingers crossed.

One last question for today. I’m a little overdue for my monthly 25% water change. Will it further stress my fish or should I go ahead with it tomorrow ? Thanks

So long as all parameters match, a 25% water change is nothing but a good thing IME. :)

I don't think medicated food is going to bring any benefit. As long as the hippo isn't bullied and is eating properly it should recover on its own. If it can't eat and is bullied then I would trap him and treat separately with meds and medicated foods
