Standalone flow meter for water station

Hi guys

Looking for a standalone water flow meter/ volume counter to put inline between my RODI and salt water bins, so I can measure how much RODI I transfer to the mixing barrel, then I can weigh out exactly 1.026sg worth of salt for that volume.

Right now, I empty the RODI into the barrel, pour in 2-3rdd of a bag of IO, let it mix, check, add more salt, mix, check add more salt, then RODI, then salt... you get the idea

I used to measure the distance between start level and end level on the RODI indicator tube, equate that to volume (1.25"/gallon on my particular barrel) but because it's not truly cylindrical, it isn't super accurate
Basically looking for something inexpensive I can use to improve acccuracy and reduce hands on time.

I have a line marked on my mixing barrel that is exactly 27 litres, which is what I change as that is as much I fit in the barrel I empty the tank water into. This means I know exactly how much salt to add to the mixing barrel to produce the same salinity as I run my DT at. In my case that is 1,140 g of Aquaforest Reef Salt.

I am planning to upgrade my water station with a mixing barrel and AWC for my current tank and the planned second one and will do the same thing. Default position will be water mixed for a change in both tanks but I will have graduations marked inside the barrel to allow me to just change water in one tank at a time. As long as your salt is consistent you only need to know how much RODI you have and you can calculate exactly how much salt to add. Aquaforest Reef Salt is extremely consistent, not sure about other brands.

Yep- me too. But I'm finding that it's inaccurate and I still need to do 2-3 rounds of correction. It's getting to be a pain having to go back over several hours to correct
