I just saw this and haven't seen one before. I'll be researching it, but if anyone knows, please let me know. Thanx.

Also, before anyone says it, I know I have an aptasia. It's the only one I've had and its been there for awhile. If I start to see more, I'll take care of it.

asterina star

That's what I thought. It's just bigger than all the asterinas I've seen. It's about the size of a nickel and is off white with a single black spot in the center. It has five arms and is symmetrical.

I'd get rid of both of them now before they reproduce.

So why get rid of the starfish? Odd, but I saw, for the first time ever, the same exact size and coloring of a starfish on my overflow box yesterday. Curious if I need to get that thing out of there or not.

I was wandering the same thing. Mine doesn't bother anything and stays in the same place. I did kill the aptasia though.

Asterinas can munch on coral. Some people never have a problem and others do. I wouldn't take the chance.

Can it be placed in my sump/fuge without problems?

I wouldn't. Why take the chance? There are plenty of other CUC's that are reef safe.
