So to start off,
End of 2019 i started a 36 gallon bow front tank with a HOB filter, have had freshwater tanks for around 10 years and decided to venture further into the saltwater world. Well like everyone else I’m sure, i had mistakes here and there and fish deaths needless to say it came around and i believe i got the hang of it for the most part now. So that being said i went and got a Biocube 16 in hopes of starting a nano reef tank i guess you could call it (pair of clowns, anemone, goby, etc.) nothing to special so here’s my questions for my Biocube-
-I put 14 lbs of some live rock some not as well as put 20lbs of live sand in there and it looks a little to much sand to me (around 2- 2 1/2 ins). Was thinking maybe take some sand out and throw it in my 36 gallon?

-second, i use the filter cart that comes with the Biocube in Cham. 1, cham. 2 has filter sponge then chemi blue stuff then a bio media bag on the bottom then nothing in Cham. 3 other then the return pump. Is that good/ok or need work

Any helpful tips i would love to hear because i would to keep progressing my knowledge anyway i can. Thanks

1st off, #WelcimetoR2R !! You'll like it here!!
As for what's in your Chambers, sounds fine to start. As you progress you could possibly make a change or 2, bit I'd leave well enough alone for now.
I agree, you could get away with less sand.
Post up some pictures!! We all love pictures here!!

Welcome to R2R!! I have a Biocube 32 gal, and have made several upgrades to mine over time. I would highly suggest looking in to the Intank basket to go in the back, as well as poss eventually upgrading to Steve's LEDS to have an awesome looking tank, that also works extremely well!! I would be willing to share any upgrades or tricks I've learned with you, even though I'm not sure how they will translate over to the smaller version of the cube lol. Just let me know!!

i'll attach a pic of mine, just for reference :)
