got myself a flame angel today and tried a little mix of frozen brine shrimp/mysis and krill about 4 hours after putting in QT
He does check food and take in mouth but must not like because spits back out!

will he take when hungry and had more time in tank? or should I get live food!

iv got some selcon fish food vitamins I could put on food

Same thing happened with mine kept spitting it out. I find with most angels you have to be aggressive same thing with my Regal and Potters. If it does persist take a feeding stick or tube and annoy it with it. Also could just be it needs time to settle in it took my Purple masked 4 days before eating.

Mine ate Hikari mysis but I always feed new fish the day after they are introduced. Gives them time to settle and get an appetite. After they eat mysis they should have no problem eating good quality pellets or flakes.

This looks good with its amino made of sponges that angels live on in wild! not cheep though !

Dwarf angels are algae grazers. Mixing some Masstick with frozen foods and smearing some on the tank wall or rocks or a piece of equipment in the tank sometimes helps them to get eating.

will give that masstick a go! and some frozen angelfish delight " never saw that frozen before in shops in uk

There is a lot you can do other than get the angel comfortable and try various different foods. Flame angels are relatively easy. They always do well for me in a dedicated full reef by themselves. I have a 40 gal reef that I use to acclimate and condition new acquires. This have always done well for me.
Good luck.

started eating fine next day on mysis/brine/krill thanks guys!

should I put clip with little algae on" with him in qt ?
