How are you getting these gate valves to turn on the light? I looked over that website you posted but didn't find these instructions. Also how bout you look into those touch lights where you touch the base and the light comes on now that's magic lol

That gate valve switch is not on a site, I developed that with a micro switch. It is much easier to use a regular valve with a washer but I had a couple of gate valves. I was thinking about a touch switch, but I think the valve is cooler because you can't buy a gate valve switch and have to build it.

I am working on another Steam Punk Lamp. This one has fire in it (simulated but very cool) like a boiler. It will be painted like the others and I will add al sorts of "stuff" to it. I think this one will be the best out of the three.

I already have the model working and the fire looks very realistic. I just need to paint the thing and put it all together.

I almost finished the third Steampunk light it is 99.99% done. I ordered a different, antique bulb socket so this red one is temporary. This light uses a bulb that has 99 LEDs that flicker in sequence to simulate fire. It is very cool in person but the camera just washes it out. The firelight uses 3 watts. I am also almost finished with the fourth one which is built out of a vintage blow torch.

I just finished this Blow Torch Lamp. The little pump handle turns it on. I do realize I am getting carried away.

This one I need an opinion on before I finish it. It is solid brass and I still have to put a switch in it. I was thinking of adding another bulb, like the last blow torch light on a brass pipe coming out of the base but on top. It would also have a dual function switch like the last one. Or should I just leave it like it is. It has a cool vintage looking wrapped filament bulb in it but would only be good for a minimum amount of light. I think it's 40 watts.

Paul I saw this one at my bosses house and thought about your lamps and told him I like it. He said please take it.lol I think it was a kerosene burner of sorts that he converted to a lamp. I may convert it back to a oil lamp for the porch.all brass and really old.

Now you just need to get some Arduino micro or mini boards and start programming the lamps. I love Instructables. So many ideas and such. Really feeds the imagination. Keep on doing what you're doing. Can't wait to see what comes next.

Very SteamPunkish, I really like it.

Erk, I think the next one is very cool. I designed it but didn't start it yet. It is totally different and involves more glass and pipes. I still need to finish that little blow torch as it has no switch but I still think it is a little too plain and I may need to steampunk it up a little.
