I am currently
After adding water to my tank 12 days ago I now have life in the shape of 2 percula clowns.
I added a big bottle of ATM Colony at the start and have been dosing Dr Tims ammonia. The last 2 days I have dosed the ammonia to 2ppm and have had a 0 reading the following day. My lfs recommended this method, and to be honest, I was very sceptical. But it does seem to work.
Hydras are now sorted and running a very reduced BRS schedule at around 25%.
Onwards and upwards.

Did I understand this right? You were dosing ammonia when you already had fish in the tank??

Anyway, I am also cycling my tank and I am using 100% caribsea base, shapes, and shelf liferock.

Sorry for the long overdue update.
Due to neglect on my behalf my little reef took a downturn and I lost the majority of my acros.
I decided to go back to basics and I started buying my salt water from my LFS again. After all, they have 2 stunning sps dominated show tanks so there can't be too much wrong with it.
Slowly but surely my reef is beginning to bounce back. Even 2 monticaps that believed had died are making a recovery.
I can now look at the tank again without cringing.

and your coral beauty is not bothering your corals?

I really want a dwarf angelfish really bad, but I love my corals more.
The coral beauty has been a model citizen. I've never seen it pay any attention to my corals at all.
The only fish that I have ever had trouble with was my yellow goby that managed to strip a nice acro frag in one day. That went straight back to my lfs.
