Stocking advice, eshopps M180

Hi,

I have started stocking my new-ish 180g tank.
It’s been running lean for a few months, time to increase the bioload.

I’ve had a nano tank for quite some time, but it is so limited to fish options that I am pretty new to fish. Trying to be diligent with quarantine on this tank.

Current residents:
Mature Yellow Tang ( re-homed from neighbor)
Small Tomini Tang
Melanurus Wrasse
Tailspot Blenny
Pink spotted watchman goby

In QT:
Small one spot Foxface
Small Scopas Tang

Coral: mostly SPS, a few decent sized colonies. Some zoas. Might add my hammer from my other tank soon.
I am thinking of adding 3-5 Anthias next.

I also promised the kids a blue tang at some point. Gotta keep the family interested.

Concerned about adding my Scopas to the DT, because of the Yellow. She’s chill, but you never know. Isolation box?

Not really interested in clowns. Have a pair in the nano tank, and that’s plenty.

Any suggestions?

I’d definitely use an isolation box when you add the Scopas. The Yellow may be fine, but I wouldn’t take any chances, especially since she’s already established. I’d also add the Scopas before the blue tang if you’re planning on getting one later.

For the Anthias, 3-5 sounds good. I’d probably add them before adding any more tangs though. With a 180g you’ve got some room, but that’s already a pretty decent bioload once everything is in.

Nice stocking list! I’d definitely use an acclimation/isolation box for the Scopas, especially with the established Yellow Tang. Give them a few days to see each other before letting them loose. Anthias would

Well… scopas and foxface were done with QT. I still needed to work on my aqua’s aquascape, so took the opportunity to rearrange my rocks before adding the new fish, hoping that would help with aggregation.

It did for about 30min. Then Yellow tang decided to dominate the smaller scopas.

I am pretty new to tangs and larger fish. I wasn’t prepared for the brutality.

Lights are off for now. Will be separating them in the morning.

Juvenile Scopas and mature Yellow tang worked out their differences after a day with the mirror and a quiet evening and everyone is getting along great.

But…
I sort of ordered 3 Resplendent Anthias and a Blue Tang from Petco. My Petco is pretty good for a Petco. But honestly, the fish guy said he could order these for me and was supposed to call me to see if I wanted to order them last week. He called me today and said they arrived.
Not thrilled, I wasn’t obligated to actually buy them, but they were there and still in the shipping bags, so I grabbed them.

Here’s the part I need advice with… the anthias are all male. Three male resplendent Anthias in a 180g display. That’s if they can make it 2-3 weeks in a small QT tank together.

Should I roll the dice and see how they do? Are resplendents peaceful enough for 3 males to coexist?
Or should I find two of them a new home?
(Or maybe the label is wrong and they’re female? Does that happen? I wouldn’t be able to tell the sex anyway)
