Stocking ideas?

So, here is the story: I had a tank crash 2 years ago. I never restocked the tank much after I left it fallow. I tossed my yellow coris wrasse back in who died yesterday after about 5 to 7 years of life. I have a tomato clown and a Ternate Damselfish in the 60 gallon nuvo. I would like at least one more fish and I don't want to tear apart the tank for the damsel and Clown.
Any ideas on fish that can work?

Honestly with those two your chances of getting another fish in there are slim unfortunately.
It’s nice to hear your yellow “coris” lives to its wild life span though, it’s not normally heard of when people keep their wrasses for more than 2-3 years.

Yeah. I got the wrasse when I first started saltwater fishkeeping. The fish spent some time in my uncles tank. I eventually got him back. I remember he was maybe an inch and a half when I got him. Died at roughly 4.7 ish.

I actually had him in the 30 gallon which is now a qt tank for a year or two before I got this 60g with a pair of occelaris.

I will also add that the clownfish is still rather small even though I have had him for a few months. My guess is the presence of the damsel and larger wrasse for all that time had stopped it from growing much larger. The damsel is fairly large compared to the Clown and is about the overall mass of the wrasse that died. I would say the damsel would be my concern more than the small tomato Clown with adding anything right now.

Would be hard to pull them out without taking 90% of the rockwork out though...

Some thoughts I had were mostly based on adding a dottyback or a more aggressive damsel species. Another thought was a dwarf lionfish or scorpionfish. Another was a snowflake moray eel. Last thought was a carthigaster genus puffer.

60 gallon 3ft tank? snowflake eel will grow 2/3 the size of the tank would not recommend that

dwarf lion might be good if you are willing to feed live i heard they don't live that long if they fed only dead food

Yeah. I have another 125 also that will be up soon. But yeah I can't depend on that I think given how delayed it is already. I see what you mean

if you have a 125 up go for it then can put it in the 60 while its small then just xfer to 125

Edit ah didn't see the last bit :P well its up to you if you think you will have it up in time if anything it will give you motivation to get it done faster

get an anglerfish, let it eat the clownfish and the damsel, then catch the anglerfish. or just build a fish trap

I might turn the 125 into a discus tank. I have the freshwater bug right now also. I have the tank and some equipment but I'm unsure if I want another saltwater tank. It's been easier to have multiple freshwater tanks than multiple saltwater in my experience.

That is a workable solution. However my ethics prevent me from doing that to two fish that I think have some value. I have two tanks full of mollies also so a hypothetical angler could have live food as well.

I would like to keep macroalgae and a cleanupcrew as well. Will the wrasse pick off small snails or crabs like a yellow coris would?

Goby? Would any goby not be harassed by the damsel and Clown? As for a dwarf moray that is a good idea. Kind of expensive though from what I recall.

I think I am at the point where I will add a six line wrasse in at night and hope it works.

You’ll be risking a fish that cohabitates with aggressive fish with a fish that will potentially rise up and kill the others…
