Setting up a 72x30x25 230. 70/30 SPS/other (Florida Ricordia, Acans, torch, zoas are the other). Working out a fish list/plan and looking for red flags and an order to introduce them. If you have experience and can offer some insight I would appreciate it.

Idea is to have a few larger fish and a bunch of smaller fish for activity. Here goes:

2 Clownfish
Tail Spot Blenny
5 Lyretail Anthias
Chocolate Tang
Twin Spot Tang

1 or 2 of:
- Tomini Tang
- Gem Tang
- Purple Tang
- Yellow Tang
- Scopas Tang
- Sailfin Desjardins
- Powder Blue Tang

Earmuff Wrasse
Radient Wrasse
Red Lined Wrasse (female)
Splendid Pintail Wrasse

2 or 3 of:
- Carpenters Wrasse
- Exquisite Wrasse
- Labouti Wrasse
- McCoskers Wrasse
- Blue Throat Wrasse
- Pink Margin Wrasse
- 8-line Flasher Wrasse

Long Nose Hawkfish
2 Swallowtail Angels

1 of:
- Flame Angel
- Coral Beauty
- Regal Angel

That's 21 to 25 fish. Might have to make some cuts to the team. The Swallowtails might be the first to go due to size (but they are some of my favorites in the hobby).

Any other system details needed to offer help?

In a 230-gallon display you should be good for a lot more fish than that - so 21-25 fish is definitely doable (especially if they start out smaller). I'm not a tang expert by any means, but I do have 4 tangs, 5 angelfish, 12 chromis, 4 lyretails, 4 damsels and 4 wrasse that all get along great (check my build link for my current stocking list in the first post if you'd like to see what I all have).

Thank you.

I will read through your build thread for tips and ideas.

For tangs. I say 3

-Atlantic blue is unique

- gem tang or long nose black tang

-Instead of tomini or scopas. White tail bristletooth

Regal for angel

1 flasher wrasse and a yellow coris. That gives you a pest eater that is a bright yellow

I love the color transition of the Atlantic Blue but the adult size is a challenge.

Gem probably.

How would the White Tail get along with the Twin Spot? Any better/worse than the Tomini and Twin Spot?

Which flasher do you recommend?

I had originally put a yellow coris on the list but pulled it for the Radient and Earmuff wrasses. You are right that it does bring in some nice yellow color though. I may have to reconsider.

How would 4 Halichoeres (including the yellow coris) work in a tank this size?
