I got a scare when the YWG was out in the open for the morning feeding and was being openly harassed by a bicolor dottyback. Later that day he was hanging on the back near the top of the tank. By the evening he was laying against the filter in flow, not a good sign. He had no signs of any ailments and had been eating and acting like a normal goby up to then. I went to bed thinking he was goner or I'd have to set up a hospital tank, but the next morning he was back under the rocks.
Since then, well over a week now, all is normal. So I guess he was chased out of his lair by the dottyback and now they have reached a truce. Both fish had been in the aquarium (45 gal) for several months.

I agree with the above. The dottyback is known for their aggression. I believe what you witnessed will be a normal occurance just based off of my own personal research. I've chosen to not add any dottybacks for this reason.
+1 Dottybacks are mean selfish people.
