Well I received and installed three of the Xs but unfortuantely two of the quadrants of lights in one of the panels is not working correctly (only lights up blue....other colors are not working). I have contacted the vendor but waiting to hear back. The app is horrible lol.....is there any documentation on how this is supposed to work? For example my home page does not populate the color channels section. Also, what are the numbers in the status section....they also aren't populating? Finally, are you supposed to be able to control individual groups of lights on each of the fixtures? I am hoping that is why the two quadrants aren't working (google searches tell me you can...others say you can't) Other than that, the lights look good lol.

Ok so my channels on the home page are now populating.....and the status section appears to maybe be temperature in celcius (not sure how that works with three separate light panels) as well as par at various depths (in cm). Third panel still not working properly though. Any Straton X experts in here lol??

I had some goofy stuff like this happening when I first was setting them up

Try to delete everything and set up a tank again, then add the lights all together and see how that works

To control channels you have to edit each individual node

Thanks for the reply....I was able to access the nodes and change the channels, but that is for the whole panel, correct? Are you able to change intensity for example in just one of the four groups of LEDS on a single panel? I am still trying to figure out why two of the four groups of LEDs on one of the panels will only display blue lights. You can see the panel on the right....only displays blue lights. Also displays some random reds on the left two groups when the other two panels aren't displaying reds. I am hoping it isn't a hardware issue but it sure seems like it is.

Your tank setup looks incredible. I hope you can get the lights to operate properly! If a bunch of the diodes won’t light up on one of them I assume that unit will need to get replaced.

Agreed that the app needs to be improved! I don’t believe there is a way to control the individual quadrants in a light. The different sets of colored diodes (blue, white, violet and red) can be controlled but it applies to all quadrants. Individual lights can be controlled by adding each light to a different “aquarium” (ie, Main Aquarium Left Side, Main Aquarium Right Side, etc.)

Thanks...it would look even better if the lights worked lol. I am going to have to call the vendor tomorrow.....I am still waiting on them to call me to "troubleshoot". I believe I have already done everything that can be done to try and resolve.

That makes sense regarding not being able to control each quadrant individually. I watched a few videos that said you could, and they went as far as saying that was a selling point to reduce intensity overtop specific corals. I might have watched some early videos before it was released or something.

The videos also said that the app has some mode that estimates par at various settings. Have you found anything like that? I looked again yesterday and could not find any sort of simulation or PAR estimate mode.

Yeah.....I believe it is on the home screen under Status (next to channels). It shows (I think lol) the temperature then it shows par readings at various depths (in Cm). Couple of things that don't make sense...is it the average temperature of all three lights lol? Also, do the PAR readings take into account having multiple lights next to each other? Again, no documentation anywhere on this app unfortunately.

It takes a while for the status values to show up because these are Bluetooth connections. You’re not reading the values from the cloud or anything, it takes an easy 10 seconds for the connection to be set up after launching the app.

I’m sure the PAR estimates are for one single panel, not taking into account overlapping lights. The only thing I’m unsure of is if the PAR measurements are distance from the lights or distance from the water level. I think it’s water level?

Btw yeah your panel seems to be dead. The X don’t have a way to configure a specific corner.

I wish it was only 10 seconds......it finally showed up after about 45 minutes for me. I would think the PAR numbers would be from the water level since they do specify the lights be 10 inches above water level. If that number varied, it would make the PAR numbers inaccurate.

I agree on the panel....unfortunately the vendor is telling me that have no more and it could be another month before they could even replace it. Just doesn't seem right to spend all that money and be without the product for that long lol.
