Stringy cheato ?

Just a goofy question. I have my cheato growning like mad in my sump. But its not corse like when i first got it. Its 10x the original size but it really thin( like 40lb test) not corse. Could it be my lighting ?

Could also be the flow in the sump.

TO fast or slow ? mine is not super fast. Gives enuf time for the crud that gets thru to get setteled in the bottom before getting to my return pump.

My sump is a 40 breeder. With drain water and skimmer in first chamber. Then a 3 baffle set. Then about a 20 gallon area for cheato with a depth baffel. Then the return pump.

So the cheato is separated pretty good. And you can see the water moving thru the sump.

In my experience low flow made for thick cheato.

Ok well mine grows DENSE but the individual fibers are thin. If i go to rip it apart it comes apart but takes a bit of force i was really surprised!
