I have a powder brown that I got for a steal bc it was in pretty poor shape. I’m nursing it back to health and have noticed yellow stripes. I’ve never seen a brown with yellow stripes and I’m wondering it is a different breed?

That is the night/stress coloration for that species. That species is fairly prone to developing ich, you should quarantine it with copper.

It's in the process of copper treatment. I'm getting the dose up as we speak. Hence the PVC in the background. It's actually suffering from velvet. I had velvet in my display tank... he might of been the one that brought it in. But he's eating and doing well in the copper, day 2.

Thanks for the info BTW. I never new that it would show like that under stress. Next time I'm in the LFS, it's something else I can use to judge the health of the fish.
