I’ve been dealing with low alkalinity in my 15g tank for months. I’ve been dosing reef fusion 1 and reef fusion 2 according to the seachem calculator to try to get the numbers up. I was making slow progress over the last couple of weeks, but today I find myself back to square 1 at 4.8. Surprisingly, my corals all seem to be fine. Any ideas about how to go about raising the number other than 9ml of reef fusion 2 daily?

what are you using to test your alk? First thing I’d recommend is making sure your results are accurate. Can you borrow a Hanna to confirm your readings?

I use Randy’s sodium bicarbonate recipe for my alk solution. Baking soda and Rodi water. Then use the BRS page to help you with the daily dose to get you where you need to go.

Have you verified your salinty? Also what alk does your new saltwater mix to? On a tank that small I would think you could keep alk pretty stable with water changes unless you have a lot of growing hard corals.
Good point.

Instant ocean purple (regular) is around 10dkh. A 1-2 gal daily water change would bring you up.

What’s consuming so much alk? C02? Or is your calc coming down too.
