Any one with a 2000 liter 500 gl or larger tank and a sulphuric reactor ? How much sulphur you use to keep high nitrates (>40 ppm) under control? Can you share pics ?

I've been unsuccessful trying to reduce nitrate from 90ppm'ish down to 10ppm with carbon dosing (vodka) on a 450gal tank. I will start up the old Korallin unit this week. Alternative is to do a massive WC but will likely end up with high nitrate in a few weeks given the current fish load. I'll keep an update on my build thread but definitely checking here for new ideas. I've done this before with much success but there are some risks associated with sulfur-based reactors.

I use a large sulfur denitrator on my 450G + 750G system. At the high my nitrates were 80 is. I now maintain around 10. I adjust the output with a masterflex pump. From the picture you can see how much media is in it. I could probably run a lot less.

That’s exactly where I’m at with the same footprint of 450gal. I can get PO4 down with LC but nitrate is challenging. I’ll push water thru a Kamoer pump. Now, need to find an old CaRx or buy a sulfur reactor.
