Yes, the socks were 4". I had an incredible response on the socks... so here's the low down on them: These are by far the best socks I've ever used! Personally, I run socks to pull out excess food and some detrius, but I don't want everything pulled out and I don't want to change the sock everyday! These 300 micron nylon mesh socks were perfect for my use. Cleaning was also a breeze, literally turn them inside out, rinse under the sink, and they're good to go. No bleach or washer necessary. You can find them with great prices here: FILTERBAG.com I believe they were only $3-4 new, although they have a $30 minimum so pick up a few!
