I'm starting a new build after being out of the hobby for 15 years. I'm planning on having my sump in a separate room behind my tank and run the plumbing through a wall. I'm thinking about putting my sump on the bottom shelf of a metal, industrial rack like the one pictured below (rated to hold 2000#'s). My sump is a Trigger CR44. My intent would be to replace the wire support with painted plywood and use a foam pad between the sump and wood. Has anyone done anything like this, any suggestions, recommendations, etc.? Thanks for the help.

Racks like that can be used to support tanks or sumps. If you are planning to use a typical, rimmed tank, then no foam is needed, just make sure the bottom rim of the tank is supported by the rack.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. Really the only reason that I thought about using the foam pad was to keep down the vibration and noise.
