hey guys so I think I have the plumbing for my sump done have the overflow going directly into the filter sock then sump in the middle and then I have the return pump in the final spot. Is this correct? Next what do I do to start the cycle? Just start with the overflow and do I then turn on the sump and return right away? Do I wait for the overflow to get some of the water in the sump first? Do I add my own water into the sump? Thanks guys here is a picture of the sump

1.) Yes, this setup should work just fine.

2.)You can start the cycle by dosing ammonia.

3.) I would add water to the sump first, once full, kick the pump on.

You will want to mix the rodi w/ salt to get the salinity right, then add it to the sump.

Add enough water to fill the sump, you’ll want the last chamber to be around halfway filled w/ wtr after you kick the pump on.

Cool. I have an eshopps pf1000and its been great so far.

However, many don’t like them because they’re worried it will loose siphon. I have had mine for 3 or 4 months now and nvr lost siphon so far.

Just make sure the u-tube is at least 1/4 underwater at all time to ensure that you dont

Also remember your sump's water level will drop with evaporation not the tank, so once all is good draw a line with a marker for your water level even if you are going to use an auto water topoff (ato).
