Sun coral growth

Hello everyone,

So in may I purchased a beautiful sun coral as you can see they are fully extended and happy

So I started looking through my photos and looked at the coral in question and noticed a big difference

The entire coral heads have drastically grown in size and i noticed that new heads are popping out of its body (I read that it doesnt do that it should shoot the babies off into the water qnd they grow where they land)

My LFS told me its a hard coral as it doesnt use light to feed not sure if its true being a hard coral (obviously if it was bigger itd be more awkward)

I read somewhere that the coral propogates itself by spraying its babies into the water colum and they will grow where they land but to me it looks like its growing out of its base

Yes, the sun coral is non-photosynthetic (so you need to feed it). I wish mine was doing as nicely as yours!
