Disclaimer: I’m about one month into Sun Coral / nps care.
So far I am finding the Sun Coral to be quite hardy. I would leave it in and keep trying to feed it.
Mine was retracted like that for a few weeks when I got it. I kept feeding it fine food (a bit in the cups that were angled to hold it) and it seems to be slowly recovering and is starting to respond to feedings. It is hard to say for sure, but I think it was able to eat some of the fine stuff resting on the mouths. I was leaving the food for 30 minutes or so then turning the pumps back on and gently blowing the rest off.
...didn’t have that colour issue though.
What dip did you use?
