Sunlight does its job perfectly

I have huge sunlight from window to the back of the tank and it's fun that the part of coral which received the sun directly has more colour and growing form to the direction to the sun, the more contact with the sun, the more coloured and growing up.

That actually a common misconception. Sunlight is fantastic for reef tanks as long as water chemistry is in balance.

Yes i have valoria sp, but i don't think it is as issue due to the cohabitation during years,

I love that tank. Bittersweet story, and I respect the heck out of Joe. Awesome guy, and equally awesome tank. So cool you got to meet him.

A few folks back at RC lit with solatubes or DIY specular aluminum shafted skylights. One even had a motorized tracking collector on the roof over his 3 large diameter tubes.
