Mandarins are one of the most beautiful, yet picky fish. I had been trying to get my mandarin to eat frozen food for some time. He unlike many mandarins is not shy and swims all over the tank. Tonight I tried to feed him by hand mysis shrimp and he actually started to eat. Super excited just wondered how many others have had similar results?

Awesome! I had a pair of mated mandarins in a 45g tall. The way I did it is I bought both of them young from Emerald Bay when they were on the other side of town. I tested at the store to see which would eat brine shrimp... it was always the youngest ones... brought the male home first... He ate frozen copepods no problem. Got the female a few months later... same results. :) I had them for about 2 years and then one day the male died for no reason I could find. I gave the female to Rick, but the ghosts at his house scared her and she jumped out of his tank!
