I've had a Tailspot for about 4 to 5 weeks. The first week, he wasn't eating, and just hiding. Since then, he's come out a lot, grazing, eating whatever I feed my fish, and is super social to my other fish. Are they normally social with other fish? He loves to follow my clownfish pair and he and my Chalk Basslet are always together except for sleeping times. Have any of you ever had an aggressive Tailspot?

In my experience, tail spots are always active and peaceful community tank members 🙂

Small fish with a huge personality. The only fish my clowns tolerate in their real estate. I’m a big fan as you can see.

But not wise to have them in pairs?
I don't think keeping more than one is generally considered a good idea, but it might be possible, I'm not sure.

Yes. Definitely have one. Egg crate lid but still covers lol
Mine jumped out of the feeding hole and landed on the net a couple weeks ago, lol.
This really happened.
My chalk bass jumped from the nano to the frag system to the right. Talented fish!

How you like your chalk overall?
Chalk bass is in my 150 with 8 other fish. It's a cool fish but a Mantis popped it the right eye twice. It recovered from the first but I think it's blind in the right eye now. It an active fish and it's spot is in the corner with its good eye out.
I have tried for over a year to catch the Mantis with no luck yet.
Just took these.

In my 15 gallon for about six months all I had was a tailspot. I wanted another fish so I got one clown. I was very concerned that the clown would bully the tailspot, but thankfully the clown I got had been bullied because it had fin damage, so instead of bullying the tailspot who was just about as big as he was, he bonded with it. Now whenever the tailspot comes out to swim around he snuggles up to it.

The blenny was wary at first, and pecked at the clown a couple of times when it would come up to him, so I think that triggered the fish's submissive instincts. I worry a bit that as it ages and transitions into a female she might turn on the blenny, but I'll just keep an eye on it for now.

Cool. I have a flameback angel in my nem system that follows a pair of yellow headed sleeper gobies around like a family.

That's what I think is happening in my tank. I introduced a Court Jester Goby and the Goby was hiding out for a week, popping its head out here and there. Today is the first time it's swimming freely so of course I was nervous. My two clowns and Chalk Bass have left it alone, but my tailspot blenny seems to love the Court Jester, picking algae next to it, following it around, I'm hoping that will give the Jester more confidence.
