Supplement Current IC Pro Marine w/ t5

I started my system with dual Current IC Pro setup and am looking to upgrade. I think I've decided to go down the route of a hybrid LED/t5 setup as opposed to all LED. Cost being the biggest reason.

So my question...I'm likely going to build a custom fixture and initially planned on using some Mars Aqua for the LED portion but I started thinking. Space permitting and realizing neither the IC Pro or Mars Aqua are perfect LED configurations...what would be the harm of using my current LED's and just adding some t5's

Any reason why I should ditch the dual current IC pros? The biggest advantage over some Chinese Black Boxes would be the ability to keep the ramp up/down vs. only on/off otherwise.

I went the same route, I have the IC pro system on a 55 gallon and added 2 cheap single sunblaster T5 fixtures from Amazon. My coral growth took off after. I run the T5s for about 8 hours each day on a timer. I use the T5 for the growth and IC pro for the color as well as the weather features.
