I installed a mount to suspend my MH fixture, it a Aqualife Bracket rated for 10lbs and the Hamilton Pendant is rated as weighing 5 pounds. Even though I’m under the weight limit, I’m nervous the vertical ba, might collapse into the housing. Reason being, it’s only a know with threaded piece pushing up again the vertical rode (adjustable height)

I would have suspended from the ceiling although realized recently that right above the tank, is a air duct :)

any safeguard suggestions....last think I was is the right bar to collapse and the MH is swimming.

For lighter loads I’ve had good luck using a shelf bracket from Lowe’s like the picture. Just make sure you use the appropriate drywall anchor. You can also get fancier ones for more money if aesthetics are an issue.

Sorry guys, I accidentally started two threads, will delete the other.

went to the hardware store and found some aluminum “U” moulding. Zip ties it to the rod and I think if somehow the nut and screw were to come loose, the aluminum moulding would keep the 90 degree rod from falling in tank.

ill probably paint it black to match the colour of the bracket.

here is the bracket;
