Surf2 position

I have the surf2 floating algae scrubber. I just switched my sump out for a larger one, capable of housing all my reactors and skimmer. The area where the surf2 is, doesn't allow it to float. The return from the zeovit reactor and UV sterilizer runs over it, dripping water down and in. Is that alright, or should I modify something so it can float?

As long as the water level inside the SURF2 is bubbling, it is ok.
