Can’t remember where I saw it . But it was probably early 90’s in a large public display .
the one end of the display has a tank ( box ) that would fill slowly and once filled release a surge of water Into the display .
creating what Mimicked waves crashing .

There were other spin off ideas with toilet float valves and a bucket that once filled the flap lifted in the bucket releasing a surge of water .

does anyone still have similar surge tank ideas ?

I thought it was the science centre in Toronto but can’t remember where
That sounds right. It was a LONG time ago that I saw this, but the aquarium was slick. I think they had a low bio-load and minimally fed that tank. So cool.
