Yeah, I've got a portable generator, but the power always manages to go out right after I go to work. It ended up being about 17 inches... Pretty rediculous for an October storm.

Dealing with a major ich outbreak from the stress of the power outtages and things aren't looking good. Nearly every fish in the display tank is infected and I don't have the means to set up a hospital tank with the power outtage. Right now I'm struggling to keep the house above 40 and I fear that I'm going to lose all of my fish. My generator is running poorly and nutrients In my tank are quickly rising. I've found a few patches of hair algae popping up in the tank and I'm starting to get really discouraged. To top it all off, I got in a car accident on the way to work during the storm so money is tight and I won't be able to devote the time/money to getting everything back in line for at least a week or two. Sorry to hear about the power outage bud I know a friend in ct probably not that far from you that wouldn't mind lending you his generator if u need it to get things in order. Hope that crash wasn't to serious and gl with your tank

Nope, I didn't get hurt, so that's the saving grace, but my car is banged up pretty badly. I came around a blind corner to find a truck sideways in the road and there was no way to avoid him. When the cop showed up (2+ hours later), his car got hit and about 4 other cars just missed our vehicles. Two people wound up in someones yard stuck and waiting for a tow truck. It has not been a good week. Already had 8 fish die with several others on their way out. Powder blue, convict tang, lamark's angel, a pair of clowns, two lyretail anthias, blonde naso dead. Blue sided fairy wrasse is MIA and all of my other fish are covered with ich except for a six line wrasse, some chromis, my melanarus, and my mandarin. If all of my coral starts to suffer with the spike in nutrients, I might be taking a break from the hobby for a bit...

It'll hold just over 5 gallons. Not huge, but prevents a problem with salinity/overflows in case the float switch sticks. With the new calcium reactor inside the stand, I no longer have room for the 5 gallon bucket I was using.

Man, I feel your pain and am so sorry to hear about your losses due to the power outage and your car accident, but am thankful to hear you were not hurt.
