Have a 10 gallon nano reef, been running on Reef Crystals for about 2 months. Thinking about switching to Reef Pro Mix. I do water changes every Friday about 3 gallons. Anything special I have to do to switch over? Any reason I should not switch over? I run a mostly LPS tank. My parameters run at 400 for calcium, 9-10 DKh, currently don't test magnesium.

RC is a good salt, why are you wanting to switch? You will be fine switching cold turkey if this is what you decide to do. Testing Magnesium is very important also, it is the part of the critical 3 parameters we test for. What type of reef do you have that would want you to switch to a pro salt or are things not looking like you want them to?

I used Instant Ocean Reef Crystals for years. About 6 months ago, I switched to Read Sea Pro. I did this to see how it would effect my coral growth.

3 water changes ago ( 3 weeks), I switched back. My decision was subjective as I found the overall appearance of the tank to be generally unhealthy looking.

Is there some issue you are trying to correct with your tank. If you are happy with your tank, I wouldn't fix something that isn't broken.
