We have a 300 gal reef tank that we hope to be predominately sps. The tank is six months old. We have "Real Reef Rock." Our local expert is trying to talk us into switching to traditional rock, mostly because he does not have experience with this relatively new product. Does anyone have experience with "real reef rock"?

If you do SPS just stick to LR (Live Rock).
I have seen a few tanks with some kind of ceramic rock but started having cycling issues and cyano long term.
For a FOWLR I would say knock yourself out but corals no way.

I just started a tank with the carribsea life rock and I love the look and texture . I was surprised at how much cheaper it was than the real reef rock. I too was worried about it being porous enough so I add seachem matrix to my sump and so far no issues
