In your opinion is 75 gal standard tank too small to house a tang? I always thought it was too small, but I want to get some other opinions, b/c I would like to have one.

I really depends on what tang you are looking at. For anyone that has tangs, I have 3, you see which tangs like to swim and which one's don't. For the most part they all like to swim for miles daily. You could probably go with a Bristletooth tang or maybe a yellow tang. The problem with smaller tanks is that most people want a couple tangs in the tank, and they do need their space to keep from trying to harm each other as they are often territorial.

I have had a few tangs in the past in a 200 gal i had running. im thinking about zebrasomas, ( a small one) either a yellow or a purple.

I don't see any problem with that. You just have to be willing to remove the tang if it does outgrow the tank, most reefers are not.

ya im cool with that, its just such a pain in the butt to catch fish in a tank full of live rock and corals, at least for me
