Tang moods

Hi, I have a sailfish and a lieutenant tang. They both change colors - either get very dark or very white. I'm just curious if anyone knows of which color means what?

They have gone both lighter and darker when they see food so I'm not sure if they're happy, mad, or sad.

Dark is usually territorial/dominance display.

Oh how cool! After I feed them, the sail fin gets very contrasty..... His dark stripes are darker and his whites stay white.

Not sure. But I have noticed that my tangs are always paler when the lights are off
