Cool, which one is your GrandFather? I see the guy on the right was a Spec 4 I think. I don't recognize the unit though. That also looks like a tent, I never saw a tent there so I also can't tell where that was. But your Grand Father was a Hero. :D

I was in the First Cavalry Division. My living conditions never got better than this. Home sweet home.

This was my girlfriend Judy taking crackers out of my pocket. She liked to do that, then mush them up and throw it in your face. But she was the only girl around so I got used to her. My wife now does the same thing.

Here is another "friend". He would eat rats for me so I didn't have to shoot all of them.

The one on the right is him. He is the greatest man I know. I’ve heard him talk about DaNang or Cu Chi so maybe in one of those places. I also think he was 22nd US Army but I’m not 100% sure.

Your girlfriend is cute. Lol

Maybe DaNang, I was never there so I don't know what it looked like. Maybe I know your Grand Father.
I was in places like "Second Banana Tree to the Left" or "20 Paces Past the Elephant".
I am not sure if they had real names, just provinces.
I spent a lot of time in Cambodia and we weren't supposed to be there so I am not sure what those places were called. One clearing in a jungle looks pretty much like the next clearing. :D

From the air they are all the same.

-7F here now (Iowa) and -17 for the low at 4am. It'll be a balmy +14 tomorrow though! They've already delayed school 2 hours.

I remember one time growing up in MN where it hit -30F with a -45F windchill and we would take cups of hot water outside and throw the water up in the air and it boiled and turned to steam. Cold water did mostly the same except some of it froze into ice balls and bounced all over the driveway. I don't know if it will be cold enough for that tonight but I'm willing to find out!

If you have access to a phone, call someone and buy a home in a warmer place.
It's a balmy 14 here now. Almost boating weather. :D

Yeah I live in massachusetts and have all my life. I hate the cold and curse the pilgrims every day. At least they didn' t know any better. I have no excuse but even though i hate the cold i love it here.

I am on Long Island, but I love Hawaii. My old girlfriend lives on top of a mountain on Maui. Fantastic place but the rest of the Islands are too crowded.
We are moving 60 miles east to get away from some of the crowds.
I had to drive through Times Square on Saturday just as they were setting up. I worked all over Manhattan and really hate the place.
My Kids are up in Vermont now in their other house. They live in the West Village in Manhattan most of the time. They can keep both places.
It's about 12 below zero now in Vermont. Great if you are a walrus.

Now that they left, I can take this think out of my tank until the next time they visit.

It's 20 below zero where they are now. They can keep it.

Here is that thing with the bubbles coming out. Great isn't it!

I will be deleting that picture soon.

Love reading your thread Paul. I finally read through all of it. Lost track of how many months that took! All the best for the new year.

Mick.

Oh and the temperature here is 22 degrees. But that is celcius!

Mick, I didn't even read all through this thread, and I wrote most of the stuff.

Unfortunately, we don't do Celsius here so I don't even know how hot or cold that is. When temperature was invented we Americans decided to come up with the most complicated, ridiculous, stupid, most nonsensical system we could think of to compliment our moronic measurement system. Like how much is 13 5/16ths + 43 5/8ths
There is a way to figure that out but only Houdini can do it.

22c = Just nice fine wearing shorts and a t-shirt but not too hot to dress up a bit as well weather.
