I'm here now

Hello Beasl. Where have you been?

I am designing a new SteamPunk angler fish that I think will be the best so I could keep it and sell the others. But I will see.

My tank is much calmer now that that large wrasse is back at the store probably wondering what he did wrong. He was a great fish, but grew to big for my liking and my copperband better also stop growing as I am going broke buying clams and worms.
I am going out in my boat now for clams, but I will eat those, my copperband will have to eat cake today.

Thanks, It was hard to Steam Punk him to much because of the spines. But I think he is kind of cute. His green eyes light up but that's about it.
I built him because I was in between designing a different type of anglerfish. :D

My wife and I are seriously thinking of downsizing and found a condo about 60 miles from here out east on Long Island. I want to move but she is not yet convinced as we have a lot of friends here and not many out there.
The place is being built and will be done in a few months. "If" we move I am not sure if I will take my tank or just give it away. My problem is that here I have friends and neighbors that watch my fish while I am gone, out there I won't.
I want to give away my tank and being the new place is right on the Sound, I could just start a local creature tank and if I travel, dump it back into the sea. My wife wants me to take the reef with us because she knows I have had it almost all my life and love it so much.
We lived here for 38 years and I practically built the house and everything in it so I am kind of attached to it. I also have solar electric and a boiler that uses almost no gas so it is very efficient.
The condo is much cheaper than my house and cost about the same to live in.
It has a private beach and large pool and golf course although I think golf is for Sissies and would never take advantage of that.

grr... double post.

I agree, if you move you should take your tank with you!

Besides, that will give you a great opportunity to quarantine and copper treat all your fish after the move before putting them back in your DT so you can get rid of those parasites once and for all!!!;Doctor :eek::eek:

Sorry Paul.. I had to go there! :p

+3 on taking the tank with you! You will miss it too much...and we'll miss your posts (fish and others!). :)

I will still have a computer so if I have fish or not, I will still come on here to throw a wrench into all these silly theories on algae, parasites and quarantine. :D
I still can't get my wife convinced to move anyway.

I have not seen that clingfish in weeks. He is probably under the tank covered in dust, I have no idea what happened to him but the 1" tube feeding my UG filter was completely disconnected for what could have been a year, I don't know. I can't find him and one Janss pipefish so maybe they went under the UG filter!

I finished my Steampunk Porcupine fish

Our 1.5" clingfish ate 3 of our blue neon gobies. Caught it eating the last one. Couldn't believe it.

Mine had a very small mouth and couldn't eat very large things only things like spaghetti.

Beas, could you come over and feed my fish if I go to Kalamazoo, Tibet or Cooz Bay Oregon?
You can use my house, boat and beach. :D

The condo is kind of large and I could easily put my tank in there but if I did I would go a little larger like a 125. I would also have to find a Under gravel filter plate which I am sure I can get in an antique shop

The biggest problem is like I said, going away for a week at a time which I do occasionally especially if they have a Supermodel showing or baldest electrician contest.

My male pipefish seems to have almost healed his tail. It was down to stumps as the much larger janss pipefish would chase him whenever he came out to do whatever pipefish do. That pair of bluestripe pipefish learned that they have to stay on the other end of the tank so now I have to feed them there. They are happy again and are doing their spawning dance that resembles the macarana. :D

Yesterday I got a new Flasher wrasse to replace the male that jumped out. I still had the female and when I added the male, within 60 seconds he was chasing her around doing a mating dance. He also started to eat right away.
Fish just love my tank but it could be the national Geographic special I had on TV about the Galapagos Islands.

I also started building a new Steam Punk angler fish today. I got his lips, jaw, and eyes made. Now for the exciting stuff. I will also build another base for my porcupine fish as that concrete black is just temporary.
Neither of these fish is the new flasher wrasse so just make believe one of them is as I can't get a decent picture of him. These guys are his buddies.

Next week we are going to look at that condo I like. "If "we buy it I am still pondering if I will move my tank. The place has a huge room under it that would be my workshop and possibly house the tank (If I take it). But right now it is not heated. They are building the place so I could add heat which I would do.
I can of course put it in the living portion of the condo as it is big enough but I always had it in a closet (and had my share of floods) so I am not sure about that either.

If I move it, I can't take my 100 gallon tank as it is 40 years old, kind of scratched and I don't think I could get it out of the wall.
I would have to buy a new 125 gallon tank to replace it as well as a under gravel filter if they still make them. If not, I will have to build it but I would need to get all this ready before (and if ) I move.
The place is 100 yards from the sea so I would use a lot of NSW which is a plus. My existing water cooled LEDs should fit over a 125 because they are both 6' long.
I could transport everything out there in 15 gallon vats which I have.

It's all up in the air now but I will know definitely in a month or so. I have been living here almost 40 years and built everything in the house including a lot of the furniture and much of the house itself so I am also fearful of moving even though it is only 50 miles.
Many of our friends are here also.

I will never like Sissy Sports. If it isn't done underwater, on a boat or with a Supermodel (preferably on a boat) It isn't for me.

I took a picture.
