Tank birthday, 47+ years

There is a chance that I may have to take my tank down. I don't know yet. I need back surgery, which I assume is better than front surgery. I have a real man condition from doing Real Man heavy work all my life and I don't mean carrying Supermodels on my shoulder as they don't weigh much. I have 5 or 6 degenerative disks with compression fractures and everything is inflamed and some nerves are crushed. (sissy nerves)
I don't know yet as I am still going for shots in my spine with vodka/Grand Marnier/Prizapro but that isn't working real great yet.
I need to fix this so I can take care of my wife and she is all upset.

If I get this done, and I may go to the hospital for special surgery in Manhattan, (We passed it in my boat yesterday and boating on the East River through Hells Gate was probably not too prudent with this condition) I may need a month of rehabilitation (which is sissy bending and twisting like ballet dancers) My tank won't last a month if I am not here, my pipefish especially frown on that.
I can't change the water now and probably not for a year so we will see how that works out.

Of course none of this may happen, they may say I am not candidate for surgery and should just run for President as I may be a candidate for that, but of course I would institute a draft where everyone would have to go into the army and that would include Men, Women, infants, Popes, and especially Liberals.

Paul,

Paul, I hope you get your back fixed. As for the tank I think the group on this forum can help you out with the maintenance on the tank for the time you are down on you front, left, right and of course proverbial back side.

And as you are in NY I would suggest hiding your burglar deterrent devices as some one is likely to get triggered and have a theatric heart attack.

USMC4Life, Thank you for your concern, I really appreciate it. I invented and installed my burglar deterrent system and after you get through the acid bath, high voltage grid, pungi sticks and rabid Supermodels, it's just the alarm that calls the Special Forces, Army Rangers, Navy Seals, and a few boy scouts out hiking in the neighborhood.

I also stand ready with one of these pointed at the door.

I took friends here yesterday (which was not the best place to go with a screwed up back but the pain/anti inflammation pills seem to work even though I didn't know if I was driving my boat or a plane as they make me a little stupefied) I let my friend do most of the driving.

That is the Manhattan Bridge and behind it is the Brooklyn Bridge. We went to the Statue of liberty just past here.

We try to go every year and when we get there we blast the National Anthem because I love my country.

Well then you are set. Now let's see some new pictures of the tank. So we all can vicariously live through you.

USMC4Life. if you live vicariously through me your hair will fall out and your back will hurt.

This is the latest picture of my tank and it looks exactly like that except the copperband is now about 6" to the right.
I love my tank and hope I can take care of it (and my wife) for many years to come. Most of me is in excellent health except for silly things that I either broke or tore but if you never broke or tore anything you live a boring life and should go outside now and look for a place to go bungee jumping or cliff parachuting, swim with some sharks or argue with someone who voted differently than you.

I am taking care of my back by rubbing it with prizapro, giving myself fresh water dips and even now I am quarantined in my basement and have 71 more days to stay here.
The anti inflammation pills I am taking say not to operate heavy machinery so I am not driving my Jeep. Only my PT Cruiser because it is lighter.

USMC4Life, where were you stationed? Any place I would know.

Everything is looking great Paul. Best of luck with your back surgery. Would hate for you to have to take the tank down, but it would let you upgrade, and I am sure someone here could cnc you some new reverse ug filter plates. ;)
Take care of yourself and your wife and please know that there is help here if needed.

Thank you Maacc. I really appreciate the thoughts. This is still all up in the air because I didn't see the surgeon, or even a surgeonfish yet. I am still picking the surgeon because I want a guy that at least graduated high school and doesn't work in a hardware store part time. I had 12 shots in my back and 2 visits to an acupuncturist which just made me leak.
I can still function but surgery may allow me to do back flips which I really love to do.
I am trying to hold this off for a few months and will maybe get a numbing shot in my spine to temporarily get me to the winter because I have to put my boat away soon and we paid for a trip to an Island with the kids which I would not have done if I knew about this little problem. :D

I don't think I would start a new tank as I forgot how to do that.

This guy is finished, And I love him. He is not plugged in here which make his eyes light up green like mine

@Paul B , first off, I am sorry to hear about your back not getting better; you had mentioned about the back shots and acupuncture previously, and I had been hoping they were helping. My hubby, who is a non-sissy like you, has a degenerative back condition from doing manly things all his life; the docs tell him he will need shots to help with pain, but he won't get them yet.

Anyway, I always love to read your posts, as you have the best sense of humor!!! The way you entangle quarantine procedures, fish medications, etc into your stories is hilarious!!! Also, as a female, it's so nice to read about the obvious love you have for your wife and that you want to continue taking care of her. Your patriotism is something I feel all Americans should have!

I LOVE the latest steampunk fish!!!!!! Are you selling those somewhere? If not, you definitely should be!

Beth, there is no room in this serious and austere hobby for humor. :p
The back shots hurt but it is a Manly hurt, they do nothing for the pain but any procedure that hurts is good, especially if you are a real Man and not a Sissy Mary girly man who texts his girlfriend all day to see if she still loves him even though they never actually met but they like to protest the same sissy things instead of getting a job.

I am looking for a Neuro Surgeon in the Hospital for special surgery in NYC that does this sort of thing and doesn't work in Home Depot on weekends, but I want a guy that went to high school and everything.
My wife had back surgery a year ago and has some rods in her back but that is the least of her problems, I could go to that guy but I am also looking for alternatives as this thing is not getting any better and I have a lot of heavy things to do at the end of the summer so I need a guy who can do this in a few minutes and I will have no down town.
It is getting hard to find a Dr. that will do that because they want you to go for therapy, which is a Sissy thing.
Beth, thank you for taking the time to add a post here as I really appreciate it even if I sometimes don't look like it. Some people take me the wrong way, I don't know why, but I guess I have a weird personality. My wife still loves me.

Oh I forgot, this Monday I am displaying my steampunk stuff here at a beach. The town is having a Salute to the Armed Forces with bands and all that and they asked me to show my stuff because I am a Veteran and I was interviewed on a local radio station here last year that is town owned. They wanted me to speak about my experience in Viet Nam.
I could sell the stuff there also and I am still supposed to be in an art show but they keep pushing it back.

Love the picture of you and your lovely wife! ;Shamefullyembarrased I'm sure selecting a surgeon will be tough...especially with your rigorous criteria of having to graduate from HS and not working at Home Depot on the weekends. ;) My husband thinks therapy is for sissies, too, and I have to really work to convince him to go the doctor when he needs to. Sigh. All kidding aside, knowing how painful my husband's back is at its worst, I really sympathize with your pain. Praying the best decision will make itself known to you.

So great about the venues to show your steampunk creations! Wish we lived closer!

Hey Paul,

I just retired after 36 years in the RCAF. If you need a tank sitter, let me know. I'm sure I can find one for you. :)

Beth, thank you for the kind thoughts.

Rybren, It may take you a little too long to get to my house from where you are to feed my fish. Unless they lend you a jet or something.

Heh, I was thinking of moving in. I'm sure that your stash of supermodels need a lot of care.

You can certainly move in, I have my entire upstairs empty. :D

My town was having a Salute to the Armed Forces and they asked me as a Veteran to come and display my Steam Punk stuff for the event. It was on the beach and very cool. There was also about 50 vintage cars there as well as bands etc.
That's the first time I wore my Dog Tags in almost 50 years. I am surprised I found them

Paul, your stuff looks amazing! I didn't realize you had built that much!

I have to ask though. Your shop sign on the front of the table looks pretty familiar. You didn't plagiarize that, did you? I'd swear I've seen that somewhere before.... :p
