Hi I purchased a brand new tank in December and I’ve been obsessed with it I’ve cleaned my glass religiously like every other day it can go weeks without been cleaned and still be as clean as I left it no algae nothing at all but before I clean it I have to use a plastic card to make sure nothing is sat waiting to scratch the glass I’m paranoid enough to overthink I know but I do this because I feel hard little dots when I run my hand across the glass I’ve noticed that when I use the card it removes them but no matter how much I use the card and the flipper a little white stain is left behind it’s literally tiny you can see something was there I have hundreds to thousands of these left behind you have to look for them but it upsets me all my other tanks I used the flipper and it was a smooth experience what could it be

They are spirorbid worms.
Pain in the ar5e that’s what they are why do they grow so quickly is it something I have to put up with or can do to stop them I don’t feed heavy either it’s literally working perfect apart from these things

They are a sign of a reef maturing; usually, they will go away on their own.

Are you seeing this on all panels or just the back? I keep my front and end panels clean with no problem. I don't touch the back.

PS I use a Tunze care magnet for glass cleaning and it works great. Grossly overpriced IMO but it works better than any of the magnet scrapers I have used. I use the metal blade on glass and have not had it scratch the glass. I clean 3 tanks using them.

I clean my glass every 2 days even tho it’s still as clear as when it’s done I do this so I lessen the chance of scratching the glass I cleaned it last night and I bet if I rub the inside of my glass I’ll feel them im not wanting to use the flipper pad side on them for it to drag them and scratch the glass I’ll try the tunze

I won't use any scraper that has a pad like the flipper. I run bare bottom and still have scratched glass using them. I too clean my glass often but only because it needs to be cleaned due to algae growth not because I don't have better things to do lol. No OCD stuff going on here.

I’ve got the ocd bug to be honest think it’s because I put so much into it already I think why let it look bad when all that needs to be done is a scrub I’ve been lucky to not have dusty glass have you used the magic eraser yet I’m in two minds but I’ll use a tunze from now on what size would you say for a cube tank glass thickness of 12 mm

The long care magnet should work. Its listed for up to 15 mm glass. I have used magic eraser but only in corners where I try not to get too close with a blade. I get being careful. My first scratch came from a magnetic frag rack. I always manage to scratch my tanks which is why I've never went with acrylic. I have found the low iron glass scratches easier than regular also.
The last tank I set up my Gal told me I should go ahead and scratch it before I filled it since I was going scratch it anyway. She said I wouldn't be as upset when I did because it was already scratched. She's a funny one 🤣
