More questions:bigsmile:
For those that didn't see my introduction, I am building my stand that houses my aquarium. I'm going to have a canopy with the back open for all my pipes, wires to go, plus prevent heat build up from the lights. My tank and top have no 'sealed' lid. This, of course, is severely evaporating my water. I'm probably adding ~1 gallon per day. Which, as you all know, is a pain to keep filled. Its not a big deal now, but I have some worry about keeping my salinity stable once I start putting livestock in. I am using an overflow box which moves 800g per hour through it, creating a massive surge of bubbles in my sump.
Now that I've told you guys about my tank, my thought was putting glass or acrylic lids on both my tank and my sump to alleviate some of the evaporation. I talked with a lfs, and they said the overflow box would introduce enough oxygen mixture into the tank, so doing this would be fine, but I wanted to get a second opinion, or three. My lights are fluorescent, so I'm not worried about heat. Will the overflow box introduce enough oxygen in my tank so I can keep lids on both my tank and sump?
