Tank plumbing

So just wrapped up plumbing my first tank. I have not glued anything into place yet, I wanted to get some thoughts and opinions on everything from more experienced people if it looks right, if I missed anything etc please let me know what you think.

If the tall pipe in the overflow box is your emergency drain ( herbie), take the cap off.
Run the drains down further into the sump.
I would run the return pvc down into the water, and then use a loc-line attachment ( fan or round end)

This was the way I was walked through to do it. Thoughts?

As far as a return goes, I’m going to do over the rim return as the pictures show I have braided tubing running into ridged pvc I keep seeing each 90 adds 1 ft of head it takes 3 to get over the rim. Is there another way to limit this

Once glued, I would do a 48 hour ( at least) freshwater test. That way you can find those little points that didn't work as planned and have time to change them. Plus you can make sure there are no leaks.

Leak test failed found a leak at the 3/4”-1” barb fitting. I did swap to a durso though it seems like I’ve got everything right idk I’m second guessing myself with everything

I don't know how much noise is coming from the drains as you have them set up in the video, but if this were me, I would remove the 90's from the main drain, shorten it so it's 4"-6" shorter than the emergency drain, and put a strainer on it.
With a "gate valve" on the main drain you would have the Herbie drain which you can make totally silent.
Like you had before.
Not sure why you swapped it out?

Looking at your video.
Do you plan to have the return pipe as it is in the video above the tank water line?
If so you going to have a lot of salt creep on the edge of the tank from all the splashing.
Just my thought.
To avoid this I would add a small piece of pipe from the return line to go about 1/2 inch below the water line..
You can put a pvc grate on it to avoid fish etc into the pipe.

perfect spot to add a loc-line fan or round nozzle.
