I was able to snag an upgraded BioCube 29 (with a ton of addons). I spent the day yesterday transferring my current makeshift setup to the BioCube. Everything transferred to the “new” tank came from my existing tank that has been running for about 9-10 months (live rock, fish, media, chaeto, water, CUC) except for the sand (new sand). The original setup was a 30-gallon tank with HOB marine filter and HOB aquaclear 110 refugium. I added 5 or 6 snails because I didn’t see many during the transfer. I also added copepods to the refugium basket where the chaeto lives. All this just to ask if there’s anything else I should do to ensure a successful transfer. Should I add bottled starter bacteria? Should I do bi-weekly water changes for the first month? Should I add anything specific to the media basket? Thanks in advance!

If it was me - I had save a small part of the old sand - clean the sand sparingly and put in the new tank as a seed - no need of any bottled bacteria in this case.

Sincerely Lasse
